Make the player sound quieter automatically when an incoming Skype call
By default in Linux Mint, when playing music in the player: Rhythmbox, Audacious, Banshee, etc. and Totem (Video) when an incoming Skype call, the sound continues playing even after answering the call, although Skype 5 (Windows) automatically reduces the sound during a call.
In Linux PulseAudio has a feature that allows you to mute the player when a call comes in, but it is not enabled by default, at least in Linux Mint.
1. To enable this feature in Linux Mint, you must do the following:
Linux Mint 17

pactl load-module module-role-cork
For older versions
pactl load-module module-cork-music-on-phone
2. So this function was activated after login, you need to open the default.pa file for editing
sudo nano /etc/pulse/default.pa
And at the end of the default.pa file to copy/paste the line:
Linux Mint 17
load-module module-role-cork
For older versions
load-module module-cork-music-on-phone
Save the file and close the editor.
Good Luck!
