DeaDBeeF is a lightweight music player, with a convenient functional interface and support for a wide range of audio formats and metadata.

Installation latest version into Linux Mint:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:starws-box/deadbeef-player
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install deadbeef

If you would like lockscreen and taskbar media button integration in LM19/LM19.1 for Deadbeef, get this plugin. In case anyone was having trouble installing it because the starws0box ppa didn't include /opt/deadbeef directory, I found a solution at the bottom of this page here. Your plugin directory should be /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/deadbeef and I utilized (aka extracted, not installed. Installing it will install a bunch of useless stuff so dont do it) this deb file in following the instructions.
