Applet TopMenu is installed in environments MATE (version 1.8 and above) distributions: Linux Mint MATE 17, 17.1 and Ubuntu MATE 14.04/14.10.
It should be noted that in contrast to the Unity AppMenu, TopMenu not hidden automatically and it is always visible when the application is in focus.

Installation into Linux Mint 17/17.1:

1. Run the following commands from terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/mate
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libtopmenu-gtk2 libtopmenu-gtk3 libtopmenu-qt mate-topmenu

To display the Global menu in the Firefox browser or the email client Thunderbird, you must install the appropriate addition topmenu.xpi (to install it, simply use drag and drop).

2. Once the installation TopMenu, log off and log on again. It is necessary to load modules TopMenu.

3. Adding applet TopMenu panel.
Click the right mouse button on the panel, context menu, select add to panel, activate the line with TopMenu Panel Applet and click Add:
