Installation  into Linux Mint (from the standard repository):

sudo apt-get install blender

Installation latest version into Linux Mint:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:thomas-schiex/blender
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install blender

If you have a good Nvidia graphics card, CUDA is activated after installation of a recent version of the cuda-toolkit. You can enable Nvidia repository following the Linux Mint "Sowtware manager" based instructions at:
