In any distro of Linux Mint you installed the Gimp by default. If for any reason you do not, then you can install it using the command:

sudo apt-get install gimp gimp-gutenprint[/simterm]

Installation latest version into Linux Mint

To install the latest stable version of GIMP on Linux Mint, you can use a special PPA repository. To add it to the system and install the application, use the following commands in your terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gimp gimp-gutenprint[/simterm]
