Darktable - free photo editor RAW images on Linux Mint

Seeks to occupy a niche between the many excellent existing raw converters and management tools images (such as ufraw or f-spot). The user interface is built on effective caching metadata and mipmaps (mipmaps) images that are stored in the database. The user always has the option to interact with them, even if the full-resolution image is not yet loaded.

Editing is carried out in non-destructive mode and affects only the cached image buffers. The final image transformation occurs only when exporting. A graphical interface written in gtk+/cairo, for the database uses sqlite3, download raw images is performed using libraw, supported HDR and standard image formats such as jpeg. The core program operates with floating decimal point, so Darktable can not only work with the usual photos, but also with images from scientific sources or output rendering (HDR).
