Tor Messenger supports various network transport for messages, including: Jabber (XMPP), IRC, Google Talk, Facebook Chat, Twitter, Yahoo, and others. The program features Instantbird messenger from the developers of Mozilla. The development of messenger three people from the company Tor have been doing for over a year.
The OTR Protocol that provides both message encryption and identity – that is, confirmation of the fact that nobody else is impersonating the person you want to chat. Loss of the encryption keys does not compromise your previous conversations.
In addition, one of the interesting features OTR is the inability to tie you to a specific conversation.
