Simple and convenient analogue FineReader. GImageReader is a cross – platform graphical user interface for system Tesseract-OCR. The program uses a graphical GTK libraries and is written in the Python programming language.

* Support format electronic PDF documents. The ability to select individual pages or page range for recognition.

What kind of error you see? I have no errors on Mint 17.1 mate.

Dear Shekin, the last command now is: "sudo apt-get install gimagereader-gtk".
I'm using it on Mint 17.3.
