ONLYOFFICE Document Server updated to version 5.1

ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors is an open source app for editing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations offline, distributed under AGPLv3 license.

In the new version ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors has received the new tabbed interface, reorganizing the editing tools into convenient tabs by their purposes and got multiple fresh features like:

  • New Collaboration tab including co-editing features: Sharing, Review, Comments, Version History, Chat etc.;

  • Navigation panel for Table of Contents and export to RTF in the text editor;

  • 11 new formulas and improved cell formatting in the spreadsheets;

  • Special paste and presentation-level comments in the presentations.

Installing ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors 5.1 in LinuxMint

There are three ways to install it:

Step 1: First of all you need to download ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors as an AppImage

wget https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/appimage-desktopeditors/releases/download/v5.1.29/DesktopEditors-x86_64.AppImage

Step 2: Make the app executabe

chmod a+x DesktopEditors-x86_64.AppImage
Step 3: Now you can run ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors
./DesktopEditors-x86_64.AppImage

    ONLYOFFICE is not compatible with odf! This is an absolute exclusion criterion! LibreOffice (https://www.libreoffice.org/) is and remains the better office suite.
