Take a Break - an app that can be used to force users to take a break after a configurable time, which is helpful. The application was created after a question on AskUbuntu, where the user is asked about the application, which could help him to take a break.

With the help of Take a Break you can do exactly this – you can do so that the app will force you to take a break or simply notify you (pop-up on top of other Windows box, but you can easily close it), all depending on the "effect" that you choose in the settings, Take a Break, and, of course, if you know how to get rid of all these effects (for example, from the rotation options of the screen).
Here is how it works Take a Break: you set the work time, break time and effect. The application performs an action (effect) that you chose to break after the expiry of the working time.
Effects can be turn screen upside down, screen lock or a simple display of a notice.
Other possibilities Take a Break include:
- Alerts for start/end, reset, and the upcoming break
- Smart resume: after the break about the app again to count the time that a user started working again on the computer
- The quick access list in Unity that allows you to turn on or off Take a Break
- Option to automatically start Take a Break at the start of the system.
For screensaver or lock screen you need to install gnome-screensaver in your system, so make sure you have installed it, if you want to use these features!
Although available are more or less similar to this application (such as Workrave, which, unfortunately, hasn't been updated since 2013 and looks abandoned), Take a Break simple and lightweight and I would say, quite effective.
