According to developers of. the project website NVIDIA, not on all computers you can install this driver. I highly recommend the owners of NVIDIA graphics cards before installing the driver NVIDIA 340.24 see the instruction "How to detect and install the correct version of the Nvidia driver". Otherwise after the installation of the NVIDIA 340.24 you risk not to start the system.
Installation into Linux Mint:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install nvidia-340 nvidia-settings sudo reboot
After the reboot, check the installed graphics driver utility NVIDIA X Server Settings, search in the menu or in the terminal command:
glxinfo | grep OpenGL
