I'm using Mint Cinnamone installed on virtual machine VMWare. The instruction helped me to adjust my mouse scroll wheel speed. I set the value to 6. Now it's comfortable to use the mouse. Thanks a lot!

Install Linux Kernel 3.13.4 (Stable) in Ubuntu or Linux Mint

Linux Kernel 3.13.4 is the second corrective release of kernel version 3.13. You can download the relevant deb packages from HERE and install them in the Ubuntu software Center. Or just follow the instructions below that will help you install the new kernel a few commands in the terminal.

Install the kernel version of the commands below can be in the following Linux distributions: Ubuntu 13.10/12.04 and Linux Mint 16/13
Installing the Linux Kernel 3.13.4
1. Open a terminal, copy and run one of the commands according to the architecture of your system/computer, at your own risk:
For 32-bit (single command):
cd /tmp && wget http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.13.4-trusty/linux-headers-3.13.4-031304-generic_3.13.4-031304.201402201618_i386.deb http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.13.4-trusty/linux-headers-3.13.4-031304_3.13.4-031304.201402201618_all.deb http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.13.4-trusty/linux-image-3.13.4-031304-generic_3.13.4-031304.201402201618_i386.deb && sudo dpkg -i *.deb
For 64-bit (single command):
cd /tmp && wget http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.13.4-trusty/linux-headers-3.13.4-031304-generic_3.13.4-031304.201402201618_amd64.deb http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.13.4-trusty/linux-headers-3.13.4-031304_3.13.4-031304.201402201618_all.deb http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.13.4-trusty/linux-image-3.13.4-031304-generic_3.13.4-031304.201402201618_amd64.deb && sudo dpkg -i *.deb
2. Update GRUB (GRUB need to upgrade the Linux system where it is installed, if you have more than one)
sudo update-grub

Note If you have a boot loader installed BURG, and it should be updated:

sudo update-burg

3. At the end of the installation, close all applications and restart the computer the following command:

sudo reboot

Once logged in, check the version of the current kernel with the command:

uname-r
