I recently became interested in programming and chose Python. Soon I started looking for a development environment and discovered a product from JetBrains that is named by PyCharm.
I’ll show you how easy it is to install PyCharm, but the instructions also work for other products of this developer. For example, PhpStorm or WebStorm.
PyCharm is one of the best development environments for writing Python programs. The program is distributed both in the professional version, which costs money, and free in the community version. The professional version has more features, but this is not critical, the free version is still very, very powerful compared to other IDES.
1. The method I recommend.
Download the Toolbox App utility. Save the file in any available place, after the first launch, you can delete it, as the program will automatically install and fit in the menu. So unpack jetbrains-toolbox:
Check whether the file is executable.
Then just run it, wait a bit. After the first launch, you can delete the downloaded files. You will find the program menu.
Now you can install any product, as well as update it, you can also log in to your jetbrains account and then automatically pull up your licenses, if you have a paid subscription.
2. Flatpack method.
Just open Software manager => search pycharm and press install
I don’t recommend using flatpack if there is a standard alternative. Flatpack or Snap, in addition to the program itself, pull up a bunch of everything to work with. This eats up hard disk space and may be slower.
But of course, flatpack and snap are very useful if there are no standard installers, but the program is needed. In this case, of course, you must install this method.
May the Force Be With You!
