It not only allows you to search for something on your computer (for example, attachments, contacts, bookmarks, files, music), but also allows you to define actions that will be performed on the search results (for example, running an application, open the file, video playback, send an email message to a contact, and so on), and quickly find many elements of your environment GNOME applications, Firefox bookmarks, files, artists and albums in Rhythmbox, the interlocutors Pidgin and so on).
GNOME Do is based on plug-ins that can easily expand and add to the utility of the new features and actions. For example, in that package, which offer you to install I have the following features: support for Rhythmbox: playback control, browse through your music library and search for artist, or album. Also included in the package themes for Gnome Do: Classic, Mini, Glass and newly added Nouveau.
