This is my favorite GUI text editor for Linux, I use the Windows version all the time too. I also covered this topic here.

I'm using Mint Cinnamone installed on virtual machine VMWare. The instruction helped me to adjust my mouse scroll wheel speed. I set the value to 6. Now it's comfortable to use the mouse. Thanks a lot!

Peek - simple animated Gif screen recorder

Looking for a simple tool that allows you to record part of your screen to export your recorded video to GIF? Note on Peek, simple utility that does just that!

Sorry for the spelling and phonetic errors in the text.
Owner and main writer of MintGuide.org is not a native English speaker.

Peek was created for special occasions when you want to record video from the screen, for example, to easily display the interface capabilities of your apps or display bugs when reporting a bug.
Peek only works with the X11 and is aimed at GNOME 3. Therefore, it should work well in Linux Mint.
To install the application requires the ffmpeg library.

You can download the latest version of Peek straight from the developer page on GitHub:

May need to install the dependencies

sudo apt install libsdl1.2debian ffmpeg libavdevice-ffmpeg56
