WindowSpy is an experimental project, to show a small preview of a window on another workspace. The "source" -window can be anything; a tv card's window, a VirtualBox window etc, anything you need or want to keep an eye on.
Sorry for the spelling and phonetic errors in the text.
Owner and main writer of MintGuide.org is not a native English speaker.
On the "source" viewport, WindowSpy minimizes the active window from the indicator menu. The user then can move to another viewport, again from the menu chooses to show the preview. The third step, again from the menu, closes the preview window, takes the user to the original viewport and shows the (previously previewed) window, as where we started.
Alternatively, user can cycle through the three stages with a keyboard shortcut, running the command /opt/windowspy/code/cycle.
Moving the window can be done by pressing Alt+drag the window to a new position.
Available settings include:
- window size
- border size
- border color
- window position (left/right)
If you want to view the application running on one workstation, while being on the other without switching between them or other unnecessary movements, WindowsSpy perfect for you.
