This is my favorite GUI text editor for Linux, I use the Windows version all the time too. I also covered this topic here.

I'm using Mint Cinnamone installed on virtual machine VMWare. The instruction helped me to adjust my mouse scroll wheel speed. I set the value to 6. Now it's comfortable to use the mouse. Thanks a lot!

There is such a multimedia file is a Matroska container (extension .mkv/mka). Meets all the needs of a modern container. It is based on EBML (Extensible Binary Meta Language - extensible binary meta language), a binary version of XML. Distributed under a free license. Robust, you can create the on-screen menu, split files into multiple chapters, packing subtitles and much more.

Sorry for the spelling and phonetic errors in the text.

Features:
Multimedia Matroska container contains a video track (MKV), audio track (MKA) and subtitle track (MKS), as well as many proprietary information that allows you to create menus like DVD movies, to control the timing and other track Number is not limited.
Supports multiple subtitle formats: SRT, SSA, ASS, VobSub and more. The resulting files from Mkvtoolnix played in various media players.
